need to develop a more sophisticated lighting system than that.

Halloween toys often now feature blue or other color LEDs.. and real cheap this week.

Experiment with shaping the 'bulb' with sandpaper to see if you can get a better distribution. Once figured out, sand the blue thingies. Unless you ended up with a better LED from the toys.

A lot of those toys can't handle 12v, they are made for like two AA batteries.

Real LED's aren't that expensive

the real reason why i wanted them ,is because i wanted a very dim light, like audi, red ambient light or bmw's orange. But theyre too bright for it, so i fooled around putting them on the tach

Sorry Part of the 2 a.m vaguely defined 'more sophisticated' system that reduced the voltage in the invisible diagram I did not explain.

They blow up real good, I've found when using the wrong voltage leads on the bench..

In that theoretical universe where all cheap LEDs can use 12v even when designed for 1.5 Sorry about that.

In related news, never ever ever use a dollar store 12v USB adapter on anything you care about. Not worth it. Starter surge goes right through the thing. Zap.
